Stage One of the Narangba Heights Shopping Centre is set to feature a full-line Coles supermarket, a service station, specialty retail outlets and more. But wait until you see what is instore for Stage Two!
Exciting news awaits residents of Narangba as Oxmar Properties, the developers behind the Narangba Heights Shopping Centre, have recently submitted plans for the highly anticipated Stage Two expansion to Moreton Bay Regional Council (MBRC) for approval. This announcement comes on the heels of the successful approval of Stage One, which had faced several years of legal battles before finally receiving the green light.
“The plans for Stage Two, lodged with MBRC, include an Aldi supermarket, additional retail and commercial opportunities, a childcare centre, and various other amenities, including healthcare services, indoor sports and recreation facilities such as a gym, and a tyre and auto centre.”
The overwhelming interest and support from the community have fueled the decision to increase the size and offerings of the shopping centre. Situated on a sprawling 6.7-hectare plot of land at the entrance to the Narangba Heights residential estate, on the corner of Oakey Flat Road and Sovereign Drive, the Narangba Heights Shopping Centre aims to become a focal point for retail, commercial, and various other activities within the area.
The proposed development for Stage Two envisions an expansion of the retail stores initially approved in Stage One. This expansion seeks to solidify the shopping centre's role as a neighbourhood activity hub, catering to the local residential areas' needs and preferences. In line with modern expectations, the centre will boast active street frontages, a pedestrian-friendly layout, and ample parking spaces.
While the plans for Stage Two have been submitted for approval, they will proceed independently alongside the construction of Stage One.
"We are currently in discussions with builders working on the delivery of the Shopping Centre, and Stage One is progressing well," said Mr Phil Murphy, Oxmar Properties.
