Shoppers Donate Trolleys Full Of Toys For Local Kids In Need

Morayfield shoppers have donated hundreds of toys to children who are in need this Christmas. The appeal, run by Morayfield Shopping Centre, raised more than $17,000 from sponsors and several trolleys full of toys donated by shoppers.

Morayfield Shopping Centre asked shoppers to help them give these children the best Christmas yet, and that’s exactly what they’ve done.

Morayfield Shopping Centre Marketing Manager, Krystall Waldock says over 400 children will receive toys this year.

“Over 400 local children and young people will receive a gift this Christmas. We’re supporting children who are doing it tough this year. The toys will be donated to children in foster care, residential care, or in hospital, the ones spending Christmas away from their families.”

“We are so grateful to our generous customers and sponsors who have not only helped us by donating toys and money, but they’ve also helped us to give these children the best Christmas they’ve ever had.”

“We want to thank our shoppers for the overwhelming amount of donations, and we hope that our Christmas Toy Drive makes a big difference to the children of Morayfield and surrounding suburbs,” Krystall says.

All toys are given to the Child Safety Centre in Morayfield who will then distribute them to the children who need it most in our local area.

Morayfield Child Safety Centre Manager, Bronwen Iotua says the community support is incredibly appreciated. “I want to thank you for your kindness, and thinking of our local children, and getting involved in the Toy Drive. These children belong to our community. I want to thank Morayfield Shopping Centre as well who have run this Toy Drive over the past few years.”
