New Festival For Moreton Bay

A new festival to celebrate the region’s growing LGBTQIA+ community will debut on Saturday, 10 June 2023, coinciding with World Pride Month.

Moreton Bay PrideFest organisers are promising an explosion of colour, music, dance, and comedy to make the region a happier, healthier, safer, and more culturally rich and diverse place for the LGBTQIA+ community.

“...$5 from each ticket sold would be donated to Headspace to assist with their outreach programs. A portion of the ticket sales will also be donated to LGBTQIA+ charities and organizations in Moreton Bay and South East Queensland.

Promoting an entertainment lineup headlined by Moreton Bay local Courtney Act with performances by Sneaky Sound System, Thelma Plum, DJ Havana Brown, and DJ Harry K and the Fluffy Superstars, it is hoped that the new festival will empower current and future generations to be their authentic selves and feel accepted and proud of who they are, regardless of their gender identity or sexuality. Mayor Peter Flannery hopes to see a broad cross-section of the community attend the event. After citing statistics on suicide rates among the LGBTQIA+ population, he announced that $5 from each ticket sold would be donated to Headspace to assist with their outreach programs. A portion of the ticket sales will also be donated to LGBTQIA+ charities and organizations in Moreton Bay and South East Queensland.
