$9M Hall for Deception Bay School

Deception Bay State School is set to receive a significant upgrade with the construction of a brand new $9 million multi-purpose hall.

The commencement of works was marked by a sod-turning ceremony led by Chris Whiting MP, along with school leaders, Principal Melissa Perry, P&C President Natalie Geddes, and the dedicated workers who will bring the hall to life.

The new multi-purpose hall will encompass a range of facilities, including a performance stage, a versatile sports court, a multi-purpose room, amenities, a kitchen with a kiosk, a welcoming foyer with reception and box office areas, and ample storage spaces. Additionally, the hall will feature two outdoor playgrounds, adding to the overall appeal and functionality of the school grounds.

"This beautiful and modern building will be an impressive addition to our school, not only aesthetically but also in terms of meeting the performance and sporting needs of our students," said Chris Whiting MP (pictured).

"Now, the entire school community can gather together for assemblies and events in a single, covered location."

With the commencement of construction, Deception Bay State School and its surrounding community eagerly anticipate the completion of this remarkable multi-purpose hall, which promises to elevate the school's capabilities and enrich the educational experience for all students.
