In search of Australia’s cutest pets, Petbarn is calling on Moreton Bay pet owners to enter their fur-babies in the Puppy and Kitten of the Year competition. Taking place for the second year running, Petbarn launched the competition to find the country’s most adorable four-legged friends and to help new pet owners celebrate the achievement of raising a healthy puppy and kitten with their online community.
Australians are avid pet lovers with 62 percent of households owning a pet[1]. Petbarn North Lakes Store Manager, Bec Lill knows how much Moreton Bay locals love their pets and how important it is to give new puppies and kittens the best possible start in life.
“At this early stage of a pet’s life, it’s crucial that pet parents seek an expert opinion to advise how they can best give young animals a happy and healthy start with their new family. At Petbarn Moreton Bay , our team can provide support for new puppy and kitten owners by offering advice on nutrition and teaching locals about pet safety, such as how to puppy proof the home,” Bec says.
“We also have a wide range of services available including puppy training, grooming, and veterinary care for your new furry friend,” Bec continues.
Regional Director of Greencross North Lakes Veronica Monaghan understands bringing a new pet into the family can raise some questions or concerns for owners.
“Our team at Greencross Vets North Lakes are always on hand for any questions you may have, as we want to ensure your pet starts life with their best paw forward. Adopting a puppy or kitten is like bringing a new member into the family, and just like the rest of the family, you want to ensure they are always healthy, safe and happy, so don’t forget that we’re always here to help,” Veronica Monaghan says.
“Raising a young pet is not always easy, but setting up the correct foundations for their life is key. Giving your new pet proper training, feeding them the right nutrition and giving them the care they need during the first 18-months will result in a well-behaved cat or dog for years to come,” Veronica Monaghan continues.
Puppy and kitten owners can nominate their pet for Petbarn’s Puppy and Kitten of the Year competition from Monday 1st October until Friday 26th October and during this time, Aussies will also have the opportunity to vote for their favourite entry online via https://www.petbarn.com.au/puppy-kitten.
By entering an adorable photo of your puppy or kitten on the Petbarn website, Moreton Bay locals and their pets have the chance to win the grand prize, a $1,000 Petbarn voucher. One puppy and one kitten will be crowned Australia’s puppy or kitten of the year, which is determined by the entrant who receives the most votes. Petbarn will then choose two additional major prize winners and additional runner up prizes in each state and territory.
Petbarn North Lakes has a wide range of products to cater for newly acquired kittens and puppies including chew and play toys plus scratch posts to ensure our four-legged friends stay fit and active. The store also offers worming, flea and tick treatments, feeding and grooming supplies plus toilet training products including puppy pads, stain neutralisers and kitty litter.
