Redcliffe Musical Theatre’s production of “We Will Rock You”, performing at Theatre 102, 102 Anzac Ave, from August 24 to September 9, will feature a powerhouse 7 piece band led by Redcliffe musician and guitar maestro, Lachy Stewart.
The show’s hilarious script, written by Ben Elton is based around 24 of Queen’s major hits. Lachy said, “Brian May (Queen’s legendary lead guitarist) has been a hero of mine since childhood, and I am loving the challenge of learning to play in his style”.
Lachy’s 20 year career has taken to him to various parts of the world and he has performed with renowned artists including Jimmy Barnes, Powderfinger, Regurgitator and Grinspoon, as well as playing for the UN troops in East Timor.
Lachy will be accompanied in the “We Will Rock You” band by fellow Peninsula professionals, Andrew Hazzard and Bevan Bancroft.
Drummer, Andrew has worked for over 20 years as a soloist, and in duos, bands and theatre productions. He is now running Hazzardsound , a professional recording studio and live sound business.
Bevan, when not performing in one of his 4 bands, including the highly acclaimed Led Zeppelin tribute band, “Song Remains”, keeps busy as a professional artist and drum teacher.
