Norfolk Lakes Neighbourhood Watch was presented as a Nominee in the prestigious Awards Australia Community Group of the Year Award by The Hon Dr Anthony Lynham MP, Minister for State Development and Minister for Natural Resources and Mines at the 2017 Community Achievement Awards Presentation ceremony held at Royal on the Park, Brisbane on Saturday 18th November. The Awards were hosted by Kendall Gilding, 7 News Presenter and 340 guests gathered from across the State to celebrate Queensland’s high achievers and community contributors.
Norfolk Lakes Neighbourhood Watch is a volunteer group who work successfully with the Council to deliver community safety projects and events. They proactively reporting vandalism and missing infrastructure to prevent hooning in local parks.
The eight category winners are: • Paws & Relax Pty Ltd of Eagle Farm – Ricoh Australia Customer Service Award • Bugs for Bugs of Mundubbera – Prime Super Agricultural Innovation Award • Kaloma Home for the Aged of Goondiwindi – Prime Super Employer Excellence in Aged Care Award • Graduate Women QLD Sunshine Coast Branch – Access Community Services Cultural Diversity Award • Selena Wool of Capalaba – Australia Pacific LNG Community Hero Award • eWaste Connection Ltd of Chapel Hill – Pullenvale Ward Outstanding Achievement Award • Morgan Stebbings, Holland Park – University of Southern Queensland Teaching Excellence Award • Umbrella Network of Rockhampton – Awards Australia Community Group of the Year Award
Winners each received $2,500 courtesy of Commonwealth Bank, and a magnificent trophy. Lighthouse Care was also announced as the People’s Choice Award winner and received $500 thanks to Pullenvale Ward.
