Join Peppa Pig plus Gru and his Despicable Me minions at Pine Rivers Park, this Sunday, October 8 for the first-ever Moreton Kids Festival.
The popular children’s TV and movie characters will perform and headline the inaugural children’s event, which will transform Pine Rivers Park into five huge worlds: Active Kids, Creative Kids, Green Kids, Fun Kids, and Curious Kids.
Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) CEO, Shane Newcombe, said event organisers were very excited to announce the Moreton Kids Festival.
“Peppa Pig and Despicable Me 3 are currently two of the biggest children’s shows in the world, and they’ll both be performing twice at Moreton Kids Festival,” Mr Newcombe said.
“Families will also be treated to all the fun of the five unique worlds, live magic shows, science shows, and music performances.
“Moreton Kids Festival is a full day of entertainment for families that won’t break the bank.
“Once families are through the entry gates all the fun, live stage entertainment and much of what’s on offer will be or free or low-cost.”
Moreton Bay Regional Council Division 9 Councillor Mike Charlton said the Active Kids world would have young sports fans channelling their favourite athlete with free sports activities and workshops including NRL, laser tag, cricket, squash, and Zumba.
“Young Picassos can get painting at Creative Kids world and participate in, free sculpture workshops, drumming workshops, and make a bear activities,” Cr Charlton said.
Division 8 Councillor Mick Gillam said young ones could also get back to nature with the Green Kids’ wildlife shows, nature journeys, sustainable workshops and games, and reptile display.
“You can also jump right into all of the excitement of Fun Kids world and the rides and amusements including jumping castles, hoverball, and animal farm,” Cr Gillam said.
Every child ticket purchased will receive three free rides tokens, and if you’re still keen for more rides you can purchase more tokens for $2 each.
The Curious Kids area will teach kids about cooking and science with cooking classes, free slime time, and a dinosaur dig.
Cr Gillam said both new and expecting parents would also have plenty to discover at the festival with the Toddler & Baby Expo zone.
“The expo will feature a huge range of products and services for dad, mum and bub, plus live expert presentations and demonstrations on the Toddler & Baby stage.”
